Collaboration with universities and research centers
Imec cooperates with over 100 universities and research centers worldwide. This cooperation enriches the fundamental research and its application at imec.
Next to the close cooperation between imec and the Flemish universities through joint research projects, imec also cooperates on a contractual basis with research groups of 2 Flemish universities. These are imec's associated labs.
In 2005, imec and the Dutch research center TNO set up Holst Centre. This fits imec's strategy to share intellectual property, talent, risk, and costs. Holst Centre works on next-generation:
- technologies for wireless autonomous transducer solutions (WATS)
- systems-in-foil
And imec collaborates with the Flemish Interdisciplinary Institute for Broadband Technology (IBBT) which is an independent research institute founded by the Flemish government to stimulate ICT innovation.
