Outreach projects
Each of us is impacted by science and technology. Our environment, culture and daily life are deeply affected by scientific advances and technological developments. Today we're confronted with huge challenges, e.g. global warming, the rising cost of our healthcare system, the sustainable development of our cities and the need for clean water. Science and technology can provide solutions and tools to tackle these challenges. In this perspective, scientific literacy and involvement will be essential for our future development. Imec's outreach group wants to improve this societal interaction by setting up different projects and interdisciplinary collaborations.
All these projects are managed in close collaboration with RVO Society. RVO Society is widely known as the developer of innovative educational material aimed to inspire children about the world of science and technology. Next to this work, RVO Society is also engaged in smaller educational projects with students, such as the collaborations with Howest and Olin College. These projects offer youngsters the opportunity to develop a research project inside imec.
