Cognitive radio processor architecture and platform
To realize the dream of Ambient Intelligence, there is a need for higher communication data rates and more efficient usage of the specturm.This has necessitated the need for Cognitive Radio and Software Defined Radio. The CRAFT or Coginitive Radio Architecture and Functionality Team is a cross disciplinary team which bridges the gap from funtionality down to technology. The main objective of our group is to build digital flexible processor architectures and platform solutions to enable a cost-efficient implementation of Cognitive Radio and Software Defined Radio. However to address this digital architecture problem two key issues need to be kept in mind: technology and functionality to reach a high performance and low energy consumption. The CRAFT team researches on scalable, flexible and low power processor architectures for such a software defined radio platform.
